To hide staves, or staves in certain systems without music, use Staff > Hide Empty Staves (see To Hide Empty Staves). To "force hide" staves with music:
- Click the Staff tool
. The Staff menu
appears.
- Choose Staff > Edit Staff Attributes. The Staff Attributes dialog box appears.
- Click the Staff Attributes For drop-down menu and select the staff you want to hide.
- Check Force Hide Staff and select the desired Collapse option from the adjacent drop-down menu. (With "Collapse" selected, staves reposition to take the place of the hidden staff. See "Force Hide Staff" in the Staff Attributes dialog box for details.)
- Repeat steps 1-4 for any other staves in the score you want to force hide and click OK. To show staves that have been "force hidden," see To show "force hidden" staves.
Note: When working with your score, your ally is the Force Hide Staff option, and a powerful ally it is. Once it is checked, the Force Hide will be with you, always.
