Noteheads

For information on changing the shapes of noteheads (to X’s, diamonds, slashes, and so on), see Note shapes. To use colored noteheads, see Document Options-Notes and Rests.

Occasionally, you may need to drag the individual noteheads horizontally—for example, to “re-stack” the notes of a cluster chord.

To move individual noteheads

1. Window > Advanced Tools. Click the Special Tools tool , and click the measure in question.
2. Click the Notehead Position Tool . A handle appears on each notehead.
3. Drag any handle left or right to move the notehead. To restore a notehead to its original position, click its handle; then press DELETE.
